The Regional Rusumo Falls Hydro Electric Project (RRFHEP) implemented by NELSAP is to benefit three neighboring countries of Rwanda, Tanzania and Burundi. It is estimated to produce about 80 MW on the Kagera River at the Rusumo Falls located on the border between Rwanda and Tanzania under a Run of River (RoR) scheme.
Tansheq on behalf of the contractor provided services for ensuring the construction, management and rehabilitation of all sites dedicated to the construction of the Rusumo Falls HPP follow the best ESHS practices in industry as set out in specification by joint requirements of the Project’s Owner, the contributing countries Governments (Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi) and the World Bank. Tansheq offered the following services:
- Preparation of Construction Contractor Environmental and Social health and Safety Management Plan (CC_ESHSMP) and eventually implement it after approval
- Conduct site inspection to monitor adherence to specifications of ESHS
- Management of Non-compliances identified during inspection or audit by Owner Engineer by issuing corrective and/or preventive action and following up on its implementation
- Reporting
Tansheq has been offering these services (and other related services) daily to the client for a period of more than three years.
